Our archive and library are being relocated to exciting new spaces and we've been rationalising our collection. These books are from our shelves carry a Shakespeare's Globe library stamp. The books are in varying condition and would also make great props as well as interesting additions to your own library.
Straight from the Shakespeare's Globe archive, this set includes:
Ancient Greek, Roman & Byzantine Costume by Mary G. Houston . Hardback with faded tan bookcloth covers, a black stamped title to the spine and illustrated black stamped title tot he front cover. Published by A&C Black in 1931. The book contains a number of black and white illustrations and colour plates with depictions of costume. The book has inscriptions on inside cover 'J.C. Nairne, 17 Arkwright Rd, NW3' and 'Anthony Price. Ex Libus ICN, 1966'
Biblical Costume by Mary Logan Wright. Hardback with faded green bookcloth covers and a black foiled title to the spine. Published by Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in 1936. The book contains a number of black and white illustrations.
The Perfect Lady by C. Willett Cunnington. Hardback with an illustrated cover. Published by Max Parrish & Co in 1948. Contains a number of coloured photographic plates showing ladies in costume.
