The dogs are back, and this year there are even more ruffs!
Back by popular demand, more new faces join the roster to make this calendar even bigger than 2026. With more breed variety, and dogs from very big to very small, and young to old, we’re very excited to share more dogs in ruffs. Last year we gave you 12 dogs, this year we have 16 dogs across 13 photos, including three dynamic duos.
Once again, the dogs who have come out to model for the 2027 calendar are not professional dog models, they are pampered pups whose pawrents work across Shakespeare's Globe.

Utred was the first dog in this year and he set the precedence for what a dog model should be. Even though Utred has only been to the Globe a couple of times, he was right at home sitting in the stands and posing on the stage.

At only 2 years old, Utred maintained a calm and collected air throughout the entire photoshoot. Utred came with his mum on the tube in an orange safety vest so as not to scare the other passengers with his large size. With his mum by his side, Utred sat patiently, waiting for treats to be given.

Crumpet was second into the Globe, with his mum here to help him. Crumpet was a ball of energy during his time with us as he doesn’t regularly come to work with his mum. He seemed most excited to meet all the new people who came to introduce themselves to him before he began his photos and was more than happy to accept his payment in treats.

Crumpet sat still and waited patiently as treats were promised, he seemed un-fazed to be sitting on the Globe Stage, not allowing his newfound status as dog super-model to go to his head.

Franklin came into the Globe next, with his dad in tow. Franklin was all smiles when he arrived, obviously excited to be out on an adventure with his favourite man. He sniffed all the smells he could as soon as he got into the Globe and made sure to inspect every corner before he was happy to sit still for just the moment it took to take each photo.

Franklin was so excited to get to pose with a prop skull, which he thought was a football, that he kicked it right off the stage and was very disappointed to see that it didn’t bounce right back to him!

Boycie came in with his mum and human sister for his day on stage. Boycie stuck close to mum throughout the shoot and looked to her to guide him in his poses. He was very pleased to receive so many treats for standing still and looking in the general direction of the camera.

Boycie was calm and collected, not phased by the grandeur of the space, and was most focused on getting his treats for being such a good boy.

Winifred and Jasper are back for 2027 and they are up to their old tricks, not listening for more than the moment it took to take each photo. This year we upped the ante and asked the two of them to sit together for their photos. While they regularly sit together happily at home, being asked to sit together at mum’s work did not appeal to them and they demanded extra treats to behave long enough for in focus photos to be taken.

Winifred and Jasper lapped up all attention that came their way, and took the time to say hi to as many of their favourite humans as they could once their photoshoot was over.

Lily and Cecil are back for 2027 and this year they both came along with their mum for photos outside the Globe. Lily had just as much energy as last year, she was ready to have as much fun as she could while getting her photo taken. Cecil was poised and polished just like last year, sitting happily for his photo when it suited him.

This year Lily was much braver, and while she looked to her mum for guidance, she was happy to explore on her own too. Cecil was so relaxed that he even let out a couple of big yawns to let us all know that the treats being offered weren't enough to impress him!

Ollie and Rosebud are a bonded pair and while it was initially Ollie who had been volunteered by his sister to model in this year’s calendar, Rosebud didn’t want to miss out on the action. The pair arrived with their mum and two human siblings and we immediately asked if Rosebud would like to model too.

These two tiny friends seemed unsure at first, but by the end of their photoshoot they were pros, even posing, successfully, with the prop skull between them.

Haribo came with his mums ready for his first time on the Globe Stage. Although he sometimes comes to work with his mum who works in the costume department, he typically spends his days in the workshop and not out in the Globe when he is here.

Haribo took a moment to warm up to being on the stage, but by the end of his time, it seemed like he never wanted to leave. Haribo sat patiently, waiting for a treat to be given and happily accepting more and more payment for his time in a ruff.

Ozzie and Seb were scheduled to come in on the same day and both boys came in ready to work for their bag of treats.

Seb, being older and more seasoned in his 'sitting still and looking at a camera' experience, was happy to pose both on stage and in the galleries with only minor directions from his mum. Seb happily accepted treat after treat for his good behaviour and sat calmly, even when a prop skull was added into the mix.

Ozzie took his time to run around and explore before he felt confident in front of the camera and in the end produced a perfect picture.

Because Ozzie was new to the camera and to sitting still for a picture, he had both his mum and dad to help guide him and make him feel comfortable in the Globe.

Mishi came with his human siblings in tow and Gunther came in with his mum on the same morning. After the two small dogs had a mad romp chasing each other around the Globe, while in ruffs, they were both ready to get to work.

Mishi was the first to take the stage on the day and at it seemed that he wasn’t that interested in being a dog model, but once his favourite treats were produced, he was all poses. Mishi proved that he really wanted to please his siblings, even putting a paw on top of the prop skull when he was asked, a feat that no other dog was able to accomplish.

Gunther stuck close to mum throughout his modelling debut and was unsure about the prop skull which was bigger than he was!

Gunther regularly comes to work with his mum, but he’s normally tucked away under her desk sound asleep when he’s in the building and his first time on the stage was a little bit daunting. Once Gunther hit his stride, he was ready to go and strike his best pose in his teensy tiny ruff.

Lady Betty is back for 2027, and she’s a big girl now. She’s gone from a fresh-faced pup to an adult dog this past year and has grown to her full size.

This year Betty’s ruff is bigger and her poses are more polished as she fully embraces her life centre stage. Lady Betty continues to spend time with her dad at work and is very comfortable at the Globe and even on stage.
We are so thankful to be able to share even more dogs in ruffs with all of you!
This year there are more dogs, and even more humans who came out to make this calendar possible. We took photos for the calendar and even specifically took photos of behind-the-scenes antics to get to share with all our furriends.
At the end of each photoshoot, each dog went home heavily compensated with treats and thoroughly tired from a day centre stage. Some of the dogs will be back to help their pawrents at work, while for others, this may be their only time coming to the Globe.
At the end of the 3 weeks of dogs visiting the Globe, we’re thankful to all our colleagues and their four legged companions who made the trek in and who braved wearing a ruff on the Globe stage for as long as they were willing to sit still.
