Love's Labour's Lost Costume Head (Pompey)

Our summer 2026 production of Love's Labour's lost featured our actors dressed as famous characters from history and legend. Each character had a painted papier mache head handmade by our props team onsite. The heads were moulded on polystyrene 'forms' before being painted and decorated. Each head has a shoulder harness inside and an eye hole cut in the neck to allow it to be worn.
This head, of Roman general and statesman, Pompey the Great, measures approximately 84cm x 52cm x 58cm. He is hand painted to look like stone, and his collar is made of grey fabric.
This is a one-of-kind costume piece, handmade on our onsite props workshop and worn on stage at the Globe Theatre. The mask is a very good condition with very minor damage commensurate with being worn on stage.
