Marriage & Masti by Nisha Sharma Book Review

In the finale to Nisha Sharma’s If Shakespeare Were an Auntie series, we are treated to an all-encompassing romance filled with miscommunication, misunderstanding, true love, and the heartbreak of standing in your own way. Veera and Deepak have a sweeping friends to lovers romance in this modern retelling of Twelfth Night.

Veera Mathur is heartbroken when her long-time crush Deepak Datta announces his engagement to social media sensation Olivia. After finding out about Deepak’s pending nuptials while hiding out in a bathroom stall, Veera is hit with another blow when her father fires her and her sister from his company, setting into motion the next year spent travelling the world.

On a beach in Goa, after a shipwreck that claims all her credit cards, Veera reaches out to the one person she knows who will come through for her, Deepak. Deepak however does not just send money, he comes himself, using his need to rescue Veera as an excuse to hide away from his engagement which has just exploded in spectacular fashion all across social media.

After deciding that the only way to get Veera her job back, and win Deepak the position of CEO of his family’s company is to get married, the couple tie the knot in a rush and then spend the rest of the book coming to term with their actions.

This book is perfect for lovers of love. Veera and Deepak’s journey to love feels heartfelt and pure throughout. This is a fun from start to finish, with lots of ups and downs and all the ooey gooey goodness that you could hope for.
